He president Luis Abinader held a meeting this Tuesday afternoon with representatives of the Dominican Society of Performing Artists and Performers (Sodaie).
The meeting where the president was accompanied by the legal consultant of the Executive Branch, Antoliano Peralta, took place in the private room of the National Palace where they discussed topics of common interest.
Sodaie is a society that works to strengthen the Dominican artistic class, through the management of related rights to copyright as a result of the interpretative and executive creation of the member artists and performers, encouraging the artistic creation and Dominican culture.
The Presidency of the Republic reported in a press release that present at the event were: president of the General Company of AuthorsDominican Composers and Music Publishers (Sgacedom), Valerio de León; the vice president of Sgacedom, Manuel Vásquez (Pochy Familia); José C. Ramírez Lebron (Kinito Méndez); José Dionisio Fernández Zapata; Ramon Orlando Valoy; Lindia María Hernández López; César G. Acosta Chevalier (Chucky Acosta); José Rubén Gonell, Manny Cruz, among others.

The Sodaie is a institution with legal status of public interest and own assets, dedicated to the collective management of related rights to the copyright corresponding to the performing artists and performers, formed in accordance with the provisions of Title XII of Law 65-00 of the Dominican Republic on Copyright and its Regulation No. 362-01.
It was founded in 2012 by a group of prominent Dominican artists and performers, who were concerned that the performing artists and performers will begin to receive the payment of royalties for his work in musical execution and interpretation.
Among the founders are: Ramon Orlando ValoyMaridalia Hernández, Jorge Taveras and Pochy Familia.
