The executive director of the Pro-Pedernales Trust, Sigmund Freundverified the progress of the Wastewater Treatment Plant that will feed the tourism project in Cabo Rojo. He also observed the progress of the first three hotels under construction: Iberostar, Secrets and Dreams.

The drinking water system for the destination in the process of development is being carried out by Ciproa Mexican engineering firm was awarded the contract for the water and sanitation system.

The works involve the engineering for the destination’s drinking water distribution system, the sanitary drainage system, the storm drainage system and the wastewater treatment plant. Works that began on May 11, where the firm will be in charge of the design of the hydraulic infrastructure, with companies that formed a consortium for the bidding process and will be in charge of the construction.

The company’s contract would be valid for two years, so the system would be ready at the end of this year 2024 or early 2025.

Freund during his visit to Pedernales was accompanied by Eliardo Cairodeputy executive director of Pro-Pedernales; Ian Rondonexecutive vice president of AFI Reservations; Henry Fuentesgeneral manager of AFP Reservas; and Jose MartiGeneral Manager of Operations.

The executives had the opportunity to perceive the positive impact that the tourism project is having on the economic and social development of the province and the Enriquillo region.
