The National Institute for the Protection of Consumer Rights (ProConsumer) reported that they received more than 100 complaints or claims against the Travel agency.On vacation in the DR» for failure to comply with commitments made to its clients, who mostly purchased tourist packages to different countries, mainly to Peru and Colombia.

The executive director of Proconsumidor, Eddy Alcantarastated that the entity he heads has received dozens of complaints, both at the headquarters and in the different offices where the institution operates.

He assured that they will respond as soon as possible to those affected by the company’s failure to comply.

“ProConsumidor’s mission is to respond as quickly as possible to people who have filed complaints, with the aim of ensuring that they are compensated and that their rights as consumers and users of goods and services are respected,” he added.

The official insisted that he will respect the economic rights of the people affected by the non-compliance of the company “De Vacaciones en RD”, to which they paid for airline tickets, accommodation and other facilities in tourist destinations.

“We are working diligently to protect and defend the rights of those affected. Those who also feel defrauded and have not yet reported their cases to the authorities should contact ProConsumidor,” he said.

He also called on the company’s owners to provide a satisfactory and conciliatory response to the complainants and whistleblowers as soon as possible.

The head of the consumer rights organization assured that if the Travel agency does not respond to affected users in a short time, “ProConsumidor, using Law 358-05 and sectoral laws, will respond to consumers and take appropriate legal action.”
