Halfway through the week of the Travel Sale 2024, which runs until Sunday, September 1, Despegar confirmed a 165% growth in interest in packages abroad, compared to the previous week. For this edition, the OTA launched the possibility of payments in installments for packages abroad, as revealed REPORTUR.com.ar (Despegar, aggressive in Travel Sale with international quotas )
Laura Amorós, Senior Marketing Manager at Despegar, commented: “Hundreds of people have already taken advantage of the possibility of financing their international Trips in installments, with a notable increase in demand for January and February. For the moment, Punta Cana is the star destination, positioning itself as the most chosen by Argentines who opt for this financing option.”
The executive said that the new financing encouraged travelers to extend the duration of their stays, reflected in a significant increase in the average number of days of stay. Therefore, the average ticket has registered an increase of 25%, demonstrating the confidence of customers in financing their next vacations with Despegar.
Meanwhile, the ranking of the most sought-after Argentine destinations is led by Buenos Aires (+25% vs. the previous week), followed by Iguazú, Bariloche, Mendoza and Salta. A segment that surprised was activities (excursions, tours, etc.) which had an increase of 142% so far, compared to the previous week.
