The event started with the participation of 35 boats from Puerto Rico, Venezuela, the United States, the Virgin Islands and the DR.
Bull’s Head, Bavarian.- The Plaza San Juan team, made up of Puerto Rican and Dominican fishermen, was placed in first position after noon yesterday corresponding to the 58th edition of the International White Marlin Fishing Tournament that started with 35 boats from Puerto Rico, Venezuela , United States, British Virgin Islands and the host Dominican Republic.
The fair, directed by Puerto Rican Luis Córdova and dedicated to Rafael -Raffy- Merino, of the same nationality, was inaugurated on Wednesday night with the religious blessing by deacon Santiago Paulino, of the diocese of La Altagracia.
The fishermen Enrique Ricart, in Malcriá; Jesús Montano (Ángela) and Carlos García on the Peje boat, accumulate 300 points to unofficially direct the joust. They make up the Plaza San Juan team.
Second place goes to PRLTA#2, also with 300 points. It is made up of Ricardo -Ricky- Lefranc (Sabina), Jorgito Hernández (MIlujo) and Eduardo Puig in Pícara.
Third position corresponds to Bite & Hook, also with 300 points and made up of Lorenzo Ferrer (Hook Up), Harry Nadal (Lady Magic) and Stacey Parkenson on the Trillo Bite boat.

The brothers Enrique and Migue Ricart, along with also a veteran Luis Jorge, joined together to release a White Marlin each, accumulating 900 points and giving first position to the Malcriá boat in the Sonar category.
First place in the Sin Sonar category is occupied by Hook Up, which has 600 points in the hands of Lorenzo Ferrer (300) and Orlando Navarro. The other fisherman is Gabriel Piñol Ferrer.
After the first release by Fernando Ramírez on the Tag Stick, Ángel Vélez (Lucking Good), Enrique Ricart (Malcriá), Ricky Lefranc (Sabine) and Lorenzo Ferrel (Hoop Up) followed.
