The governor of Central Bank of the Dominican Republic (BCRD), Hector Valdez Albizupresided over the act of putting into circulation three new works by the Juan Pablo Duarte Library:

  • Temporary exhibitions at the Numismatic and Philatelic Museum 2022-2024´
  • ´Dance and choreography, my passion´, a set of written evocations by Josefina Miniño and the editor Miriam Véliz
  • And the collection ‘This is how the villains play’, by the poet and narrator Víctor Andrés De Oleo

Likewise, Valdez Albizu announced the launch of the Optimization project of the services of the “Juan Pablo Duarte” Library, started in 2020.

This project, whose main focus is public service, documentary preservation and the promotion of culture, was conceived by the Cultural Department of the BCRD.

The governor explained that, for his design of the optimization of the services of the library, three fundamental parts were taken as reference:

  1. A management system that makes the management and administration of resources more efficient, added to the use of a online catalogthrough which the availability of resources is identified and consulted in real time.
  2. Furthermore, a digital repository which brings together historical data from the bank, research documents, and a compilation of cultural activities in recent decades. The repository preserves the documents and the documentary access using a cell phone, tablet or computer.
  3. And finally, the bibliographic collection portalwhose objective is to show the editorial work of the institution.

Regarding the works put into circulation, Valdez Albizu congratulated the authors and thanked “the Cultural Department for the release of these new works from the bank’s collection, as well as all the departments that have collaborated to make this new editorial milestone for the institution possible.

The writer Josefina Miniño led on behalf of the authors a few words to the public in which he highlighted “the admirable vocation and sensitivity of the Central Bank in the promotion of the arts and the preservation of historical heritage Dominican, including his editorial work, which is amply evident by the immense cultural value of the works published through the Juan Pablo Duarte Library“.

During the launch, the governor was accompanied by his wife, Fior D´Aliza Martínez de Valdez; the manager, Ervin Novas Bello; the controller, José Ml. Taveras Lay; the deputy manager of Monetary, Exchange and Financial Policies, Joel Tejeda; and the cultural assistant managerJosé Gabriel Alcántara Almánzar, among other collaborators of the institution.

The event was also attended by relatives of the authors and personalities of art and national culture.
