Twelve people lost their lives due to thel weather in Cap Haitienaccording to municipal authorities.
Eleven of the victims died in Labori, in Barrière Bouteille (southern outskirts of Cap-Haïtien), where a house collapsed under the heavy rains that have been hitting the city for several days.
The collapsed house destroyed two other houses below, causing the death of 11 people.
The other person lost his life in Rival after landslides.
Rescue teams, firefighters and residents of the region are mobilizing to continue the search through the rubble and find other victims.
